Discover The Widest Selection Of Lanzarote Villa Holidays To Enjoy A Fantastic Get-away

There are many different places to stay if you are thinking about booking a break on Lanzarote. This tiny island in the Canaries is just four hours away from UK airports and boasts loads of accommodation options, from charming rural properties through to la

This unique island first started to attract tourists during the 70's and 80's, at the time when package holidays abroad first became widely available to consumers in the UK. Visitor numbers then reached a peak in 1993, when 2 million tourists touched down at Arrecife airport. Lanzarote remains very popular today, but tourist numbers have tailed off a little, partly as a result of increased competition from other, newer destinations such as Egypt and Turkey.

However the island still remains very popular and part of the reason for this is the fact that there are so many different types of accommodation to choose from - ensuring there is something available to suit all tastes and budgets.

The biggest growth area in the last few years has been in self-catering holiday properties, with over 10,000 villas in Lanzarote on the island. Most of these Lanzarote villas are of course located in the main resorts. And virtually all have their own swimming pools and can be rented out all year round thanks to Lanzarote's amazing climate. Villa rental prices start at about 450 Euros per week depending on time of year and location.

Villas in Purto del Carmen re normally larger and better built than similar properties in other resorts and hence command higher rental rates. So tourists planning a stay in Lanzarote's main resort can expect to pay from Euros 600 for their week in the sun, depending of course on the time of the year and the size of their party.

Villas in Playa Blanca are a little cheaper however, with a week's rental starting from Euros 450. So these offer excellent value.

As well as Lanzarote villas you'll find 200 plus hotels to choose from too. With six 5 star establishments catering to the luxury market and a host of good quality 4 star hotels available, especially in Playa Blanca in the south of the island.

This is the spot to head for if you are booking a hotel break on a budget as there is a much wider range of choice here than in Costa Teguise or Puerto del Carmen and hence the room rates are usually cheaper. The Natura Palace and the H10 Rubicon Palace are amongst the most popular establishments.
