New Year in Surrey

Take a couple of days out in Surrey during the New Year long weekend and you'll realise that there's far more to the capital's south-westerly neighbour than you may have expected.

Buy train tickets for your New Year voyage early to take advantage of the top fares obtainable.

Make a weekend of it or just visit for the day during the festive vacation. There are plenty of attractions, both manmade and natural, and Surrey's close proximity to Surrey makes it very easy to get to.

Whether you're looking for some place to rejoice and bring in the new year, check out places like Haslemere Hall where you will find live music and sufficient of a shindig to start the year in style.

As always, you might be able to bag yourself a bargain by checking out the several hotel New Year packages, many of which offer one or two nights of accommodation and your ticket to a spectacular New Year event. The Runnymede-on-Thames hotel, for example, is offering packages for one or two nights and tickets for a spectacular New Year festivity.

You will also come across similar packages in hotels similar to the Barnett Hill, with its beautiful Surrey countryside environment.

Throughout the days, explore the numerous attractions Surrey has to offer, like Guildford castle, where you can mix culture with the luxury of taking in panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

A visit to Surrey Cathedral will provide you with a touch of wow factor, with its magnificent structure at the top of a hill.

And you can, of course, escape from it all and get your heart beating with a hike through one of Surrey's several walking routes through the Surrey Hills. Many walking routes start and end in convenient locations like the main towns of Guildford and Dorking, so you'll find them easy to access. Make sure you leave sufficient time to get back civilisation before the short winter days draw to a end.

A couple of days out in Surrey this New Year could be just what the doctor ordered. Relax by day in the fresh air of the idyllic countryside and spoil yourself with celebration fit for a king at night.
